Push the power button to turn the computer on again. If lights are still on, you can unplug the power cord to the computer tower. No lights should be near the power button. You will notice on the screen you can also LOCK the computer or bring up task manager. If you are connected via RDP (Remote Desktop Client) Press Ctrl-Alt-End then select Sign Out. Log Off of Terminal Session on Windows Server 2012 or Windows 8. Press Ctrl-Alt-Delete then select Sign Out. Press and hold the power button on the front of the computer for approximately 5 seconds. Log Off (Log Out) of Windows Server 2012 or Windows 8. This achieves the same results as turning off your computer normally (in that the computer shuts off,) but it is only to be used as a last resort. If your computer freezes, you can do a hard reboot.
